VA Western New York Healthcare System
Telehealth provides Veterans access to health care that is more convenient and easier to access through the use of new health care technology including video conferencing and health monitoring devices that can connect patients to their health care team.
Telehealth uses video conferencing to conduct medical visits using a computer screen. The service also uses store-and-forward technology to send patient information and diagnostic to another provider, and home care, which allows a Veteran with a chronic disease to be monitored at home using a device that sends information back to the medical facility.
