VETERANS ENROLLMENT EVENT AT BUFFALO VA MEDICAL CENTER

On Saturday, October 26, at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Veterans enrollment sessions will be held in Freedom Hall at VA Western New York Healthcare, 3495 Bailey Avenue in Buffalo. The sessions are designed to help Veterans learn about VA health care during this time when they may be considering health care options.

Veterans are encouraged to attend one of the sessions to hear an overview of VA health care benefits and meet with staff. Veterans should bring their discharge papers along with their financial information from 2012 for accurate benefits counseling. VA offers benefits for returning Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn Veterans, Women Veterans and Veterans with special needs. VA program areas such as Health Promotion Disease Prevention, My HealtheVet, an online personal secure health record, Women’s health and more will have information tables and staff present to answer questions. A New York State Division of Veterans Affairs counselor will also be available to assist with filing claims for service connected disabilities and other benefits.

For those already enrolled in VA health care, flu vaccines will be offered at a drive through flu clinic at no charge from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and also offered to those who enroll that day.
