VA Western New York Healthcare System Appoints New Nurse Executive 

Patricia Hryzak Lind has been appointed Associate Director for Patient Nursing Services/ Nurse Executive for VA Western New York Healthcare System effective December 16, 2013. From 2000-2013, she was the Associate Director for Patient Nursing Services at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center and Rochester VA Outpatient Clinic. Lind is dedicated to working together to provide high quality care to Veterans and their families.

Lind was recently honored receiving the 2013 Upstate New York March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award for Leadership and the New York Organization of Nurse Executives – Finger Lakes Region: Best Practices Award and Excellence in Nursing Leadership Award. She enjoys being a Veterans Health Administration (VHA) certified mentor.

Lind’s educational background includes a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Rochester, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the State University of New York at Utica/Rome and a Diploma in Nursing from The Genesee Hospital. She completed additional graduate level course work at the University of Rochester in Nursing Administration and a post-master’s certificate as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She is a graduate of the Johnson & Johnson Wharton Fellows Program in Management for Nurse Executives.

Prior to her employment with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Lind worked at Preferred Care as the Director of Health Management and Clinical Product Support, at the University of Rochester as the Director of Education, faculty member and clinical nurse specialist and as a Practice Administrator/ Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at the Anthony L. Jordan Health Center.

VA Western New York Healthcare System provides care to over 46,000 Veterans at sites located in Buffalo, Batavia and community based clinics in Dunkirk, Jamestown, Olean, Niagara Falls, Lockport, Lackawanna and a satellite site in Springville.
