February is American Heart Health Month. The Department of Veterans Affairs is partnering with the American Heart Association to raise awareness about heart health for women. VA Western New York Healthcare System is encouraging everyone to wear red on Friday, February 3 for "Go Red for Women" events taking place at the Buffalo VA Medical Center, 3495 Bailey Avenue, and Batavia VA Medical Center located at 222 Richmond Avenue. Educational and interactive activities relating to heart health will begin at 11 am and go to 1 pm in Buffalo, Freedom Hall, Room 301 and in the outpatient area at the Batavia site until 2 pm.
Additionally, at the Buffalo site, Laura Joslyn, Physician Assistant in Cardiology will provide a presentation on signs and symptoms of heart disease for women at noon followed by a group picture at 12:15 pm. During 11am to 2pm, educational material will be available at the Batavia site with a group photo of everyone wearing red at noon.
