VA Volunteers Inspire By Example

VA Western New York Healthcare System staff will celebrate and recognize the power and spirit volunteers give back to our country at the Batavia Volunteer Recognition and Awards Ceremony Wednesday, August 20 at noon at the Clarion Hotel in Batavia.

"Volunteers perform countless acts of service and are one of America's most valuable assets," said

Brian G. Stiller, Director, VA Western New York Healthcare System. "During the past year, volunteers from our Batavia site have dedicated 21,057 hours of service. In addition, the facility received $117,325 in donations to enhance programs for Veterans."

Over 75 Volunteers will be receiving awards for their volunteer service. The top recipients are Paul G. Judkins, who reached the 10,000 and 12,500 hours of service. Irvin M. Bartz and Alexander

N. Krywy who each provided 5,000 hours of service. Maureen K. Adams and Edgar C. Turner reached

the 2,500 hours mark. David R. Hebell, Gerald J. Pescaro, Leon B. Randall all have contributed 1,000 hours each. The 750 hour awards go to Helen L. Bilicki, Joseph L. DeFazio, David L. Funston, Charles H. Kreppeneck, Donald F. Roof, and Phyllis L. Schrader.

Volunteers will be recognized for their many years of volunteer service. Special recognition will be given to the many Veteran and community organizations who give so much to the VA volunteer program.
