VA Childcare Waiting Room Re0pened

VA Western New York Healthcare System has reopened Kids Korner Childcare Waiting Room at its Buffalo site, 3495 Bailey Avenue. The children’s waiting room is available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with appointment, and extended hours from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. upon request.

Children six weeks to 12 years of age can use the supervised waiting room, operated by Skies the Limit Academy, LLC. This free service is provided by legislation granted through a childcare program established by Congress as part of the Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services. The two year pilot program, was recently extended after the initial pilot expired September 30, 2013. “This service has been a great asset for Veterans who are parents or grandparents assisting them while they get their health care,” said Brian G. Stiller, medical center director. “Children love it too!”

Veterans can schedule an appointment for childcare by calling (716) 862-8802.
