TED, Telehealth Education Delivery for Veterans, is a mobile home like vehicle set up with telehealth equipment for demonstration coming to VA Western New York Healthcare System, 3495 Bailey Avenue, Buffalo, Wednesday, June 24 from 11am – 3pm. The TED tour is traveling to VA medical centers giving Veterans, VA employees and the public a chance to see how telehealth works and how it enhances access to VA care.
Health informatics, disease management and telehealth technologies are used to target care and case management to improve access to care, improving the health of Veterans. Telehealth changes the location where health care services are routinely provided. “VA is expanding telehealth services to include more specialties and additional locations to access it, said Paul Galantowicz, VA Telehealth Coordinator. “As usage increases, Veterans and staff will realize the convenience and other benefits of it.”
Some of the telehealth services currently offered through VA Western New York Healthcare System are psychology, GI, hearing aid, low vision, neurology, pain, telederm, women’s wellness, infectious disease, diabetic clinics and more. To learn more, contact Paul Galantowicz, at 716-862-8840.
