VA Western New York Healthcare System Celebrates Pink Friday

On Friday, October 18, VA Western New York Healthcare System will celebrate Pink Friday.  This day represents our support for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Everyone has been encouraged to wear pink to work as a sign of recognition of the significance that breast cancer has to our hospitals, families, loved ones and to our community.
At the Buffalo VA Medical Center located at 3495 Bailey Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14215, from 7 a.m. to
9 a.m. Veterans, employees and visitors will be greeted with pink bracelets and information in the lobby and basement.  In addition, a program will be held in Freedom Hall from noon to 1 p.m. to include a video presentation, a survivor’s story, and presentation of services available from Breast Cancer Network of Western New York.  A group photo will take place at 12:45 p.m.
At the Batavia VA Medical Center, 222 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, NY 14020, information and bracelets will be given out from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and there will be a chance to win raffle baskets in the Canteen on the ground floor.
