New Digital Imaging Services Introduced at Batavia VA

Veterans who receive care at the Batavia site of VA Western New York Healthcare System have improved services as a result of the new imaging equipment recently installed. A ribbon will be cut on the $353,127 digital imaging equipment Friday, April 1 at noon in room 118 of Building 1, and is part of a $210,136 construction project that replaces old radiographic techniques. The new equipment produces an image within seconds and allows for adjusting it for optimal quality without use of a computed radiography reader, improving resolution and less repeat exams.

“Improving access to care is continuous,” stated Brian Stiller, medical center director. “We are pleased to have improved imaging for Veterans in Batavia and surrounding areas.” Last year, over 2,000 X-rays in were performed at the Batavia site. Veterans can walk in Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 8am-4:30pm to get x-rays if ordered by a VA provider.
