VA Western New York Healthcare System Celebrates National American Indian Heritage Month 2016

 

BUFFALO, NEW YORK – A National American Indian Heritage Month observance will take place Friday, November 18, 2016, at the Buffalo site of VA Western New York Healthcare System at 11:30am in Room 301, Freedom Hall, 3495 Bailey Avenue.

The 2016 theme is “Serving Nations.”  This year’s annual celebration will include remarks from Mr. Pete Hill, “All our Relations Project” Director of the Native American Community Services of Erie & Niaraga Counties, Inc.  The "All Our Relations" (AOR)  project is aimed at increasing the mutual respect, understanding, and collaborations between Native and Non-Native groups, organizations, persons, and others, as well as contributing to the health and wellbeing of the Native American community & friends. The AOR Project offers free cultural competency training in a wide variety of areas, voluntary case management, and many Native cultural programs.

The event is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
