Honoring Veterans on the PTSD Walkway

VA Western New York Healthcare System and Batavia Veterans Alumni Association will honor Veterans who have passed away at a Memorial Ceremony, Friday, June 7, 2019, at the Batavia site of VA Western New York Healthcare System, 222 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, New York.
The ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the walkway behind Building 5 of the Jack Wisby Jr. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Building. Five Veteran graduates of the PTSD Program will have their names added to the walkway this year to join 50 other Veterans who have been honored since the walkway was unveiled in 2006. “Each year, the PTSD Programs partner with our Peer Support Volunteers to honor the lives of fellow Veterans who have passed away, said Caryn Dilandro, Ph.D., PTSD Program Manager. She added that “this partnership is one of the many ways that our VA community can honor and advocate for the hard work towards recovery from PTSD. We honor the lives of all the Veterans we have served in the past, and continue to serve in the future.”
The Jack H. Wisby Jr. Memorial Walkway was made possible by donations. Following the Walkway ceremony, the annual picnic will take place. All are welcome.
