                                             Honoring Veterans on PTSD Walkway

VA Western New York Healthcare System and Batavia Veterans Alumni Association will honor

Veterans who have passed away at a Memorial Ceremony, Saturday, June 7 at the Batavia site of VA

Western New York Healthcare System, 222 Richmond Avenue. The ceremony will begin at 11:30

a.m. at the walkway behind Building 5 of the Jack Wisby Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Building.

Five Veterans will have their names added to the walkway this year to join forty other

Veterans who have been honored since it was unveiled in 2006.  “This project was initiated by

Veterans who have gone through the program in coordination with VA, stated Jill Murray,

Behavioral Health Care Line Manager.  “The partnership is a demonstration of the success peer

support brings to Veterans in recovery.”

The walkway was made possible by donations.  Following the ceremony, the annual picnic will

take place.  All are welcome.
