May 28, 2015

Print Version (MS Word)

VA Western New York Healthcare System and Batavia Veterans Alumni Association will honor Veterans who have passed away at a Memorial Ceremony, Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Batavia  site of VA Western New York Healthcare System, 222 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, New York.

The ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the walkway behind Building 5 of the Jack Wisby Jr. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Building.  Five Veterans will have their names added to the  walkway this year to join 45 other Veterans who have been honored since it was unveiled in  2006.  “This project was initiated by Veterans who have completed the program in coordination  with VA, stated Jill Murray, Behavioral Health Care Line Manager. “The partnership is a  demonstration of the success peer support brings to Veterans in recovery.”

The Jack H. Wisby Jr. Memorial Walkway was made possible by donations.  Following the  ceremony, the annual picnic will take place.  All are welcome.
