Black History Month Celebrated at VA Western New York Healthcare System

VA Western New York Healthcare System proudly joins the Nation in celebrating Black History Month in February with special events scheduled at VA Buffalo’s Freedom Hall, Room 301.

African American Vendor’s Day will take place Friday, January 30, from 10am-2pm. Cultural wares and retail items will be for sale. On Friday, February 20, Ms. Karima “The Storyteller” Amin will speak from noon-1 pm. Ms. Amin is a noted educator and author from Buffalo, NY, who shares her repertoire throughout the U.S. and Canada.

 To celebrate culturally notable foods within the African American community, a “Taste of Soul” will take place on Friday, February 27, from 11am-1 pm. Dishes such as collard greens, sweet potatoes, pig’s feet and much more will be served!

All Black History Month events are open to the public and all events will take place in Freedom Hall, Room 301.
