Voluntary Service Partnerships
Thursday, April 28, 2016Throughout the year several organizations and local businesses partner with Voluntary Service at VA Western New York Healthcare System to support our nation’s Veterans. Thanks to the generosity and efforts of these Voluntary Service partners, a number of Veteran programs and activities have been made possible such as providing personal care items to Veterans in need, special outings to sports events, and beautifying the grounds for Veterans and visitors enjoyment.
Girls Scouts of WNY
Since 2013, the Girl Scouts of Western New York have made sure Veterans at the Batavia VA and Buffalo VA enjoy casual reading through the Rochester Service Center Magazine Campaign. This project’s funding is value is $11,770.
Employees from Hewlett Packard volunteered at the Batavia VA during their 2015 “Home of the Brave” campaign to pay honor and gratitude to Veterans.
Kevin Sizemore Visit
Through the Western New York Heroes organization, actor Kevin Sizemore visited Veterans at the Buffalo VA Medical Center.
WYRK Radio Morning Show
WYRK Radio Morning Show personalities took the time to visit Veterans during National Salute to Veteran Patients Week.
American Legion Erie County
The American Legion Erie County donated exercise equipment to Buffalo VA’s Cardiac Rehab Clinic.
