VA Western New York Healthcare System
Parking Ramp Construction Begins
Construction started on Tuesday, May 31 for a three-tier parking ramp by the outpatient entrance at VA Western New York Healthcare System on Bailey Avenue. Additional patient parking spaces will be gained from the $6.2 million project awarded to L.P. Ciminelli and designed by Kideney Architects and Walker Parking Consultants. The ramp is estimated to take 6 to 8 months to construct dependent on weather.
Parking on the grounds continues to be available for patients with new golf cart service assisting with transport from lots to entrances. Employee parking on the grounds will be limited. Additional off-site parking for employees with shuttle service is available nearby to the facility.
“We have been looking forward to this project and have secured parking off-site for employees to ensure patients would have easy parking access on the grounds to the medical center,” stated medical center director, William F. Feeley. “Everyone is working together to make this a smooth transition.”
Other project improvements include improved vehicle traffic flow at patient drop off and pickup locations and enhanced landscaping adjacent to the new parking ramp.
