VA Western New York Healthcare System hosted a community Mental Health Summit Wednesday, August 28 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Veterans Service Organizations, community and government representatives, and VA teamed together to learn about VA services and community programs that assist Veterans and their families with mental health support. In attendance were representatives from the United States Air Force, Buffalo Vet Center, Women Veterans Health, Suicide Prevention and Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn. Forty-eight community partners and over a dozen VA programs attended the event.

Leaders of the summit hope to develop a resource directory of community services for Veterans.
