Would you like to be a VA Volunteer? One of the reasons people volunteer is the opportunity to help others. For many VA volunteers, that passion is fulfilled by serving veterans; those who have done so much for others or to explore a new career field. It gives them a feeling of personally investing in an important activity bigger than themselves and making a real difference in their community.

There are many volunteer opportunities at VA Western New York Healthcare System to explore, based on areas of interest. Do you enjoy driving? DAV/Volunteer Transportation service has openings to drive veterans to and from their health care appointments. Within the Buffalo and Batavia facilities, escorting patients, transferring medical lab samples, serving refreshments, and greeting veterans are volunteer opportunities available with flexible days and hours. To volunteer, at VA Western New York Healthcare System, in Buffalo, please contact Sharon Shelton at 716-862-8671, or in Batavia, Jason Jaskula at 585-297-1197.
