VA Western New York Healthcare System
VA Western New York Healthcare System works aggressively to be sure that every Veteran in our area knows about VA health care benefits that may be available to them as a result of their service to a grateful nation. Throughout the year, VA staff attend community events to educate Veterans about their specific eligibility for benefits and about the programs we offer.
The summer months offer the opportunity to participate in the many outdoor events throughout our service area, which includes Erie, Niagara, Genesee, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Livingston and Wyoming Counties. Members of our Outreach Team include staff from Veterans Service Center, Minority Veterans Program, MyHealtheVet Program, Women Veterans Program, Homeless Program and Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn.
Our outreach team is providing information to Veterans at Cruise Nights at Quaker Steak & Lube Restaurant in Depew, NY and Dunn Tire Raceway Park in Lancaster, NY, supporting Veterans community events. Our Minority Veterans Program staff have also been active this summer, providing outreach at pow-wows, festivals and local events. We will be participating in Veterans Day at the Erie County Fair on August 14. Come out and cheer on our VA marching unit and look for our outreach tent on the track. Check our events and classes section on this website for information on where we will be throughout the year.
